English Lesson Plan

We as a teacher can teach children colours through many ways such as songs, stories, art activities, colours flashcards and many more. they find them fun and remember the mixing of colours and recognize colour words well. here are some example of lesson plan that can be apply by teacher in teaching colour to their pupils.

Behavioural Objectives  : By the end of the lesson:-
1.     Pupils are able to listen to the song and match correctly 3/4 pictures with the colour based on the song given.
2.     Pupils are able to recognize and name 3 out of 4 colours without the help from the slide show.

Vocabulary                   : Red, green, blue, yellow

Sentence pattern          : The ball is blue.
                                      Is the ball red?
                                      No, the ball is blue.

Previous knowledge   : Pupils are already known about colours in their daily life.

Noble values               : Co-operative, appreciate the God’s creation.

Presenting vocabulary





Stating the colours in sentences and refute the statements.

Example:

·      The car is green.
·      Is the car blue?
·      No, the car is green.

o    Teacher shows the slide show of the vocabulary.
o    Teacher pronounces the word and pupils follow.
o    Then, pupils will be asked to spell the words correctly.
o    After that, teacher asked pupils to arrange the correct spelling of the colour based on the picture given using the alphabet cards.
o    Teacher writes down the sentences.
o    Teacher reads aloud the sentence for the pupils to repeat.

Practice

(15 minutes)

Listening to the story





Paste the right coloured items on the picture

o    Pupils will be seated in a group of 5 to 6.
o    Each group will be given a picture of a little girl.
o    Teacher tells a story about a little girl
o    Then, they have to paste the items with the correct colour based on the story told by the teacher.
o    When finished, teacher will asked pupils randomly about the colour of the items that they had chosen.
o    Pupil need to refute the statements and give the correct answer.

Listening to the song






Worksheet

·      Listen and match the picture with the correct colour
·      Recognize the colour circle the things with the correct colour.

o    Teacher plays a song entitle
      ‘colours’ for the pupils to  listen.
o    Teacher plays the song for the second time for the pupils to sing along.
o    Teacher distributes the worksheet to the pupils.
o    Teacher then plays the song and pupils need to match the picture with the correct colour while listening to the song.
o    Pupils look at the picture given and circle the things with the correct colour.

Closure
